Service Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;font-size:12pt"><DIV><P><SPAN>This point feature class documents the locations of wells in the SFWMD DBHydro database with aquifer performance test results and provides descriptive information about those tests and their results. Coordinates for each test are those of the pumped well.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P><P><SPAN>An aquifer test (or a pumping test) is conducted to evaluate an aquifer by "stimulating" the aquifer through constant pumping, and observing the aquifer's "response" (drawdown) in observation wells. Aquifer testing is a common tool that hydrogeologists use to characterize a system of aquifers, aquitards (an aquitard is a zone within the Earth that restricts the flow of groundwater from one aquifer to another) and flow system boundaries https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquifer_test.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P><P><SPAN>At SFWMD, APT data is used to assist the regulatory permit review and water supply planning processes.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV>
